Born in Uganda, in extreme poverty, all I dreamed of was coming to America, to pick money from what I imagined to be a very large money tree.

However, there was no "Money Tree" and after graduating from Nursing, I ended up in the same rat race of endless double shifts, 3 nursing jobs, and with half of my paycheck going to taxes.

I kept enduring those night 12hr and double shift and even though exhausted and almost got into an accident, I often would collapse in my car, looking at my paycheck, hoping for different results, only to be reminded that another half of my paycheck had gone straight into Taxes. Despite all my hard work, I had nothing to show for it.

I felt trapped, chained by the lucrative paycheck, and financial freedom seemed like an impossible dream.

13 yrs of doing the same thing, paycheck-after paycheck, I was frustrated, burnt out and desperate. I wasn't insane or unwise, I simply didn't have the financial literacy needed to work smarter. I was essentially working to pay taxes to "Uncle Sam". I knew I had to find a way out. So, I searched until I found the truth - The wealthy don't work as hard, they work smarter, lower taxes and leverage OPM. This missing information had cost me tens of thousands in taxes; Money I should have been investing.
